The Evolving Classroom From Control to Connection

What should a teacher do in the continuously evolving situations of our classrooms? Isn’t there any straightforward, single remedy that can be our magic wand bringing the desired results? Isn’t there any single solution to all these prevalent problems? Why is it hard to cater to the demands of various situations?

We all know very well that today’s classrooms are more challenging than the earlier ones. We face new situations with each child while teaching. They have more variations in their levels and have different needs. The advancement of AI and technology has also affected the mental level of our students. Their digital engagements at homes have reshaped every aspect of modern students’ lives. A teacher, equipped with age-old traditions, would appear outdated and irrelevant. And the classroom would seem impossible for him to deal with.

In such a situation, the questions mentioned above might be raised repeatedly. We are always looking for an easier and single solution to the problems of classrooms. But the only single solution as it now appears to us is to enable the child to learn. It is the only single line way that will lead us to the door of success.

Learning starts with the desire of a child and to arouse that desire in the child is the only important task of a teacher. We cannot dictate them everything nor can we make them mug up all the content. We would not even be over their heads, pushing them for learning. But they should be inspired instead.

The continuously evolving situations of our classrooms demand adaptability for new methods and remedies with 21st century skills in mind.
