One of the many salient characteristics which makes Hindi the most scientific language is, it is read as is written. In English, this feature is varied. One letter may have many sounds, which creates difficulty in reading any new word correctly if it has come first time before the eyes. Generally, it happens in the case of all five vowels i.e.

‘a’, ‘e’, ‘i’, ‘o’, ‘u’.

Let’s study the different sounds read for letter ‘a’ with different examples:

1. ‘a’ read as ‘æ’ sound;
